High Availability Data - Call PBM IT Solutions at (888) 233-6471Q. What is a data center? A. A data center is a place where business operate the part of their IT infrastructure that requires the highest grade of power, bandwidth, air conditioning, monitoring, and technical support. Data centers are the biggest challenges facing IT executives in the coming years. Energy costs are rising for most data centers. Companies should employ tools and techniques to manage the energy cost curve. Five issues IT managers must consider to ensure smooth data center operations are as follows: Regulatory compliance, disaster recovery/business continuance, power, Hosted Solutionscooling, and IT as a service will be dominant themes in the coming year as companies work to manage their IT assets to support business goals. The idea is that virtualization disguises the true complexity of the network by separating it into manageable parts, much like your partitioned hard drive makes it easier to manage your files. In addition to using virtualization technology to partition one machine into several virtual machines, you can also use virtualization solutions to combine multiple physical resources into a single virtual resource. A good example of this is storage virtualization, where multiple network storage resources are pooled into what appears as a single storage device for easier and more efficient management of these resources. A real-time client backup solution can fulfil today's storage management needs. Real-time backup operates automatically as changes are made. It does not rely on a schedule, since data loss does not occur on a schedule. Increasingly, the most valuable information is mission-critical, meaning it has just been created or is being continually modified for the task at hand. Easy-to-use recovery tools are also critically important to bring back lost files and systems. Improve IT responsiveness to rapidly changing business demands with the Cisco Unified Computing System. This next-generation data center platform accelerates the delivery of new services simply, reliably, and securely through end-to-end provisioning and migration support. There is growing pressure from environmentalists and, increasingly, the general public for governments to offer green incentives: monetary support for the creation and maintenance of ecologically responsible technologies. A data storage system includes a disk drive array including a plurality of disk drives; a first storage processor for controlling the operation of the data storage system; a second storage processor forcontrolling the operation of the data storage system; a first arbiter for controlling communication of data from the first storage processor and the second storage processor to a first group of disk drives of the disk drive array; a second arbiter forcontrolling communication of data from the first storage processor and the second storage processor to a second group of disk drives of the disk drive array; and a third arbiter for controlling communication of data from the first storage processor andthe second storage processor to a third group of disk drives of the disk drive array. Selected data is redundantly stored on disk drives in the first group of disk drives, the second group of disk drives and the third group of disk drives such that, upon failure of the first arbiter, the selected data is available to the first storage processor and the second storage processor through the second and third arbiters. Nexus sets the stage for converged Fibre Channel and Ethernet networks. The Nexus products will allow companies to consolidate their separate server and storage networking infrastructures onto one unified network fabric. |
